As the administrator for your organization's library you will have the ability to set a limit for the number of days any books in your library can be borrowed. You can set this value globally in your organization's settings, but you can also override that for specific books if you want them to have a longer or shorter checkout period. This help article will cover how to update both of these values.

Global Library Settings
To set the loan period for all the books in your library, you can do this in your organization's settings screen. To update this value you just need to follow the below steps.
- Using the user dropdown menu in the top right corner, choose Settings.
- Navigate to the Library Settings tab.
- Scroll down to the Default Book Settings section and update the "Loan Period (days) value.
Updating this will allow you to change the default number of days that users will be able to borrow any books that you've uploaded to your library.
Individual Book Settings
If you have a book that you feel warrants a longer or shorter borrow period than your global default, you can set a custom value within that book's details. To make this change, click on any book on your organization's dashboard and choose the "Update Book" option.
Scroll down to the "Library" section and update the "Loan Period (days)" field to the new value you want set for this book. For this example, instead of allowing a 30 day borrow I am wanting users to only be able to check out this book for 14 days. Once you update the value just scroll to the bottom of the page and click the "Update" button to save your changes.
When users borrow this book and it appears on their bookshelf, they'll be able to see the number of days remaining on their loan by hovering their mouse over the timer that appears in the top left corner of the borrowed book's cover.
